I know I should know this, but I can't seem to find my answer. From what I could tell from past posts, Rock updated from Font Awesome v4 to Font Awesome v5 in Rock v7 (https://rockrms.dev/community/ask/troubleshooting/2014)

But, I still can't seem to get v5 icons to show up. Am I missing something obvious, or do I just need to link to the font awesome 5 library in the site.master file?

Version 6 of Font Awesome has backward compatibility for version 4 and version 5, so lately I have been installing version 6 (the latest as of 11/06/22) on the sites I have been working on with Compass. It's been workin great so far. Soon, I am planning to install v6 of Font Awesome in the next release of Compass. This allows everyone to use icons for what is in Rock Core, and the ability to grab the latest as needed.

There are paid icons and free ones. If the client doesn't have a paid account they will be limited in selection. If something like fa fa-user doesn't work you have some other issues like fontawesome not being in your theme.

(Originally by Unknown) fa fa-user works, so I think fontawesome, in general, is working. But, from what I could tell, when I do a search for 'fa fa-church', it's available in v5, but not v4... I can't discern if it's 'free' or not. It's a little unclear, since Rock seems to communicate that the v5 library is available... but when I do a search, it's not. So, just a little unclear on what to tell the client. I know I did an additional link directly to the v5 library for another client, and that worked... it just seems like it should be unnecessary based on the literature.

fa fa-church does work in v14 on the Rock internal site using the Rock theme (Test Page). It also likely works in the core rock themes (Stark, Flat, etc). I suspect you are using a custom theme that has not been updated to version 5 of font awesome. You might want to verify that your .less files for your custom theme are including the font-awesome less files the same way as core theme is.

(Originally by Unknown) Ah, yes. I bet that's it. It's using the Compass theme. I'll chat to Steven about that. Thank you.
